I thought this was a very smart ad for hand sanitizer. You dont realize all the items you touch in your everyday occurrence. What first caught my attention was the imagery they used for the ad. It was disturbing at first glance seeing all the hands coming out from other hands, but as I took a second look and realized what the ad was for, I thought it was creative. It brought me back to what we learned in class that if you take the headline away, or the imagery, the ad doesn't make sense. I think this is a perfect example of the two playing together to make a successful ad.

The competition to sell a product is extremely high. We are surrounded by millions of different adds trying to get you to buy their product. What better way to grab a consumer's attention than to put a sexy man or women on the ad. Sex sells. We are constantly surrounded by the beautiful, fit, tall, gorgeous men and women that are put on advertisements. When it comes to a man, what will catch his attention more, a women wearing a string bikini or a cute puppy? Using sex to sell a product has never bothered me. But when it is used tastefully. I came across some really degrading ads toward women. This actually turned me away from the product, so I ask myself does sex always sell?

This is an advertisement for drinking and driving that I thought was very powerful. The ad is direct and gets the message across clearly by showing an outcome for driving under the influence. The overall mood of the advertisement starts off depressing, for example the bar is dark and has a gloomy atmosphere. A lot of advertisements for this cause show you getting pulled over by the police, it rarely shows the consequences. I thought the concept was portrayed in a successful way to getting the message across to its audience.
